Citron-Cranbery Sauce

It’s that time of year when I crave cranberry sauce or something tart after dinner (Yes, I eat cranberry sauce for dessert). Usually, I go straight for the jellied kind that comes in a can. However, on certain days I like to make my mom’s quick and delicious citron-cranberry concoction.

Mom’s cranberry sauce recipe:

  • 1 bag of cranberries
  • thinly sliced dried apricots or dried mangoes
  • 1 peeled and diced apple
  • 1 peeled orange
  • 3 big teaspoons of citron marmalade
  • 1 cup of coconut sugar

Just put the cranberries, dried fruit, apple, sugar into a pot (do not need to add water!) on high heat. Put the oranges in last so they don’t completely collapse. Cook until cranberries become “mushy.” Voila! You’re finished.
